So we created a light savory black pepper pasta that is sure to meet all of your summer comfort food needs. Simple to make, inexpensive, and not much time spent in the kitchen sounds perfect to us. This recipe is super easy. Perfect for those dreary rainy summer days when you have no motivation other than binging your favorite show on the couch. Maybe doing a little bit of spring cleaning so you can feel productive. This recipe will have you out of the kitchen in no time.
When we were making this recipe one of the family members ragged on us when he looked in the pot and saw only black pepper. “So we’re having pepper for dinner?” Trust the process! You will be happy in the end, I know we all were.
A simple pasta dish that gets its flavor from black pepper with a creamy cheesy finish.
- 1 pound spaghetti cooked per directions on box reserve 1 cup pasta water
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 2-3 tbsp cracked black pepper
- 2 cups fresh grated parmasan cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly grated pecorino cheese
- 1/2-1 cup reserved pasta water

Cook spaghetti to al dente according to directions on box. Start sauce when spaghetti almost done. Drain and reserve one cup of the pasta water it was cooked in.

In large skillet add 2 tbsp cracked black pepper. Toast over low heat until the fragrance starts to be released. Add olive oil and butter.

Add 1/2 cup of the pasta water to butter/oil pepper mixture. Add pasta to skillet and toss to coat well.

Add cheese to skillet and toss well until it is melted and spaghetti is coated. Add additional pasta water to achieve the correct consistency. Spaghetti should be coated with a silky creamy cheese pepper sauce. There is not "extra sauce" in pan.

Serve immediately with extra cheese and black pepper.
You can add a little reserve pasta water to reheat.
Pasta can be a fairly simple dish, but we love finding ways to change the flavors to match our mood. This recipe is SO simple and such it is awesome because you get rich, silky, creamy pasta with the added kick of cracked black pepper. We don’t want to get too vanilla on you.
