If you have the ability to take a day off in the middle of the week to enjoy fall activities I recommend you take it! I drove past a pumpkin patch this past weekend and there had to be hundreds of people there. I mean maybe I’m just being picky but I like to be alone in public, is that too much to ask? Back when I drove to University I would pass this charming apple orchard and I never stopped. I decided this year I would wait for a sunny weekday and play hooky while I explored a little more of what my town had to offer!
As we are still fairly new to the whole website business, and taking pictures isn’t the easiest. It feels more like having to redo senior pictures every weekend. I laugh at how much easier it is to take a picture of an object rather than a person. Namely me. I am not photogenic. It is also really easy to become distracted from your good intentions of a photo shoot, when the cat decides he is down to play in the leaves. It means you have to stop everything and crawl around in a dress while throwing leaves around for the cat to catch.
He does add nicely to a spooky pre-halloween photo shoot! The day was a guessing game over whether or not we would have enough light to record the day. We have been having odd weather lately, half of the day will be cloudy and the other half sunny and if it isn’t that, we’ve been getting only rainy days. This day was exactly what we expected half clouds half sun, but thankfully the sun came out full force later on to cheer on our hiking endeavors.
One would think that as a Minnesotan I would know better than to dress as a deer while walking in the woods. Apparently I am a thrill seeker! How can you not be tempted by these hills though? It was well worth the racing hearts as we slid down them. We finally got the message and headed to the orchard when the shot guns we heard in the distance started sounding decidedly less distant.
I can’t tell you how badly I want my own barn and frankly my own farm! Code name: “husband” tells me that I would be a horrible farmer because I’d have to get up early. I tell him I would be a great farmer because it means I don’t have to leave my house for work. Hopefully someday I get to prove I’m right.
I have big plans to put up an awesome recipe for apple crisp. It will be the best apple crisp you have ever tasted! Unfortunately that will not be this week as I forgot why I went to the apple orchard because I came home with two pumpkins instead… Woops! Thanks for joining us again this week! We hope this got you thinking about adventures that you want to go on but haven’t gotten around to yet. Get to them! You will only regret the things you didn’t do. Probably…I mean I guess I could think of a couple embarrassing things I’ve done in my time that I would rather forget. That is not the point today…however, if you have any story you want to forget, tell them to me instead. I love the screw ups!
Have a great Fall and remember to like, share, and comment!
We would love to hear from you, do you have a specific recipe you want us to feature? Let us know!
