I am always looking for a quick snack to bring to work or out to the beach. Basically anything that will allow me to have an easier morning or spend more time in the sun. So our recipe for homemade Hummus is perfect for that. Not only is it delicious and way cheaper to make yourself than buy in a store, but it is also really easy.
We didn’t choose to share our original recipe for hummus quite yet, but instead are sharing this spruced up version of Garlic and Roasted Red Pepper. What is great about this recipe is you get to try this awesome flavor variation and also have the base recipe hidden within so that you could potentially make all kinds of flavored hummus. Oooooo what about spicy hummus? Is that a thing? Can I make it a thing? I might have to do that and get back to you on it.
If you wanted to make an ‘unflavored’ version you would simply skip adding the red pepper. Then if you wanted to make your hummus into your favorite flavor you could work from that base recipe. We wanted to share the red pepper version because it is a bit more interesting and also has such a nice color to it, which is maybe something you only think about if you run a food blog…

I love hummus as a summer snack. I am always looking for something healthy and easy that doesn’t make it feel like you are sacrificing flavor. This recipe is perfect for anyone who likes delicious healthy food. So basically everyone, I think.
We like to pair this with sliced veggies if you have the time to chop them up and if you don’t we also LOVE this red pepper humus recipe with peta chips. It’s the bomb. I recommend trying it and letting us know what you think. In the mean time I will be enjoying the sunny weather and gorging myself on hummus and carrots.
