If you’re like me “we’re having Brussel Sprouts for dinner”, was like the last thing any of us kids would ever want to hear. That was until we stumbled upon the BEST way to make Brussel Sprouts. We are sharing with you all today, what is now one of my FAVORITE vegetables. The tables have fully turned for us!
- 1 pound washed brussel sprouts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 diced tablespoon butter or butter substitute optional
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup water
-
Trim the bottom of sprouts and cut in half
-
Toss in 1 tablespoon of the olive oil
-
add 1 tablespoon olive oil to large frying pan
-
Place sprouts cut side down in a single layer in frying pan
-
Pour water over
-
Sprinkle with salt
-
Add butter/butter substitute to pan if desired
-
Cover, bring to simmer, simmer for 10 minutes
-
Remove cover, let remaining water cook away. Continue sauteing until cut side is caramelized
You really can serve this as a side with almost anything. After you try this recipe once you will be surprised that there is such a thing as craving brussel sprouts, and trust me hell did not just freeze over when I typed those words out. We served it with one of my go to dinners which is jasmine rice (give me all of it) and fried tilapia. It is best made coated in Shore Lunch and fried in olive oil. Enjoy this awesome secret! Remeber to Comment, like, and share with your friends, there is no need to horde secret recipes anymore because good friends share good food. Have a great day!
