Today we bring you three healthy and nutritious smoothie options. Not only are they all very different (so you won’t get bored) but they will actually keep you full until your next meal! If you are anything like I am your mornings are a frenzied rush out the door, and then three trips back inside because you forgot your phone, purse, and to put deodorant on. Most mornings I scramble to at least pack a lunch for the day which usually means that I grab a few crackers for breakfast as I run out the door. Don’t worry, we have the perfect solution for you. Mornings will be easier knowing that you have already checked one thing off of your to-do list. Our offerings today will be a Berry Yogurt Smoothie, an Oat Groats Smoothie/Parfait, and a Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie! All healthy, all filling, all easy to make the night before.
First off we will start with our berry yogurt smoothie! The fun thing about these smoothies is that these are our favorites, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make your own personal alterations to the recipe. For me I LOVE a mixed berry smoothie, but if you’re a die-hard strawberry lover, no one here will tell you no. All three of the Smoothies can be found in this Recipe Below.
- Berry Smoothie
- 1/4 cup almond milk or milk of your choice
- 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt fat percentage of your choice
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder of your choice. I do have a couple of brands that I prefer including
- Cellucor Whey Whipped Vanilla or Gold Standard Vanilla Ice cream
- 3/4 cup frozen fruit of your choice. In this case I used frozen mixed berries
- Oat Groat Parfait
- This recipe takes a little prep time but can make 4-5 servings that will keep in your fridge all week
- Pre soak 1/2 - 1 cup oat groats soaked in water for 24 hours and then drained
- For each parfait:
- 1/2 cup of the soaked overnight oat groats
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup almond milk or milk or your choice.
- sweetener of your choice or fruit optional
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Smoothie
- 1/4 cup almond milk or milk of your choice
- 1/2 -3/4 cup plain greek yougurt
- 1 tablespoons PB2 powdered peanut butter
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder your choice of brand but I do prefer Cellucor Molten Chocolate
- 1 frozen banana
-
Directions for Berry Smoothie and Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Smoothie:
-
Add all ingredients to blender or whatever smoothie blender you have. Could even use food processor. Blend, stir, blend again. Add more almond milk to thin to the consistency you prefer
-
For Oat Groat Parfait:
-
Soak 1/2 cup to 1 cup oat grates in 2 cups water over night. Drain.
-
I usually prep 2-5 of these at a time. In separate containers that you can cover(sometimes I use large glasses with plastic wrap) measure 1/2 -3/4 cup plain greek yogurt, the milk and 1/2 cup oat groats mix well. At this point you could stir in a sweetener of your choice.(1 tbsp honey, or 1 packet splenda, or other sweetener of choice. Mix well, cover, refridegerate. This will make 2-5 servings. It depends how much oats you want in each. In the morning you can throw some fresh or frozen fruit in, stir and enjoy!! These will keep in fridge without the fruit added for a week.
Secondly we want to show you our Oat Groats Smoothie. This is a fantastic healthy option that you can dress up to fit your taste. I would totally recommend adding a little sugar or honey, or even throwing in a bit of your favorite fruit. I have eaten it plain but I will say if you aren’t a die-hard plain Greek Yogurt fan then it is a little intense that is why I recommend a little sweetness.
And doesn’t it just look pretty with the berries anyways!
Last but certainly not least we have our Banana Chocolate Protein Smoothie. I told you that we had a lovely variety of breakfast smoothies that will keep you full and happy! Now again you might be surprised that I will say this here, but you can change this one up just like the others to fit your taste! Let me tell you how.
Don’t fret if you are the dash and dine type person, we’ve got you covered! We hope you like these smoothie options and they make your mornings a little less hectic and your days a little less hungry. Let us know which one is your favorite! Did you try any personal touches that you recommend to the rest of us?
