Homemade Salsa Verde

A fresh tomatillo based salsa verde.

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts tomatillos husked
  • 1 large onion cut into large chunks
  • 2 small sweet peppers
  • 1 hot pepper or to taste
  • 1 1//2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 6 cloves garlic or to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel husks off of tomatillos
  2. In 2 quart sauce pan add tomatillos, cover with cold water
  3. Bring to boil, Simmer until the tomatillos change color. Drain
  4. In food processor, blend tomatillos. Put blended tomatillos in large bowl. Add salt
  5. Blend onions, peppers and garlic. Add to tomatillos. Mix well.
  6. Chill and then taste to see if extra salt, garlic, or peppers is desired.
