Homemade meatballs

Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 onion minced super fine
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In large bowl, add all ingredients.  Mix thoroughly until well combined. If meatballs are too moist, add additional bread crumbs.  If meatballs are too dry, add additional milk one tbsp at a time until desired consistency.  Meatballs should be able to easily be rolled into balls that stay together.  

  2. Roll into 2 inch balls.

  3. In large saute pan add olive oil.  Heat oil over medium heat.  Add rolled meatballs and saute until browned on all sides.  

  4. At this point one can either add the meatballs to a pasta sauce of choice to finish cooking or cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
